In the Qur’an ,Almighty Allah says:
وَعِندَهُ مَفَاتِحُ ٱلْغَيْبِ
Meaning:- No one possesses the keys of the unseen except Him.{Surah Al-An’am , Chapter 6:Verse 59}
That said, incorrect translations and faulty interpretations have led some to incorrect conclusions about this verse. The wording of this verse is significant. If it means that He doesn’t grant access to anyone, then why has He created keys for the knowledge of the unseen? Why create keys for a lock when they are not to be given?
The word mafatih(keys) has rich implications. The symbolism it evokes reveals that Almighty Allah keeps these keys, and when He wills to grant knowledge of the unseen to someone, He reveals this knowledge to that person. The main idea of the symbolism of ‘keys’ illustrates that knowledge of the unseen is locked for those who are refused access, and the keys are meant for those who are granted access. The treasures of knowledge are with Him alone and the keys are for His obedient servants. The verse, in fact, is affirming the knowledge of the unseen, and not negating it.- {Shaykh ul Islam Dr. Tahir ul Qadri, Book of Divine Oneness, Vol. 1 , Page 270}
