Ramadan is an especially opportune time to reflect on the blessings of food.
When we eat less, our stomachs shrink, and we feel full after a few bites at the
end of the day. Fasting allows us to experience once a year what many throughout
the world experience almost daily. Hunger, for them, is not a choice; it is
simply a fact of life. In Islam, feeding people carries great virtues as can be
seen from the Qur’an and Hadith.
Under Help Feed Project of Minhaj Interfaith & Welfare Foundation (MIWF), the
distribution of ration among the needy and underprivileged sections of society
was carried out in New Delhi, Baroda (Gujarat), Kanpur (UP), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra)
and areas near Kolkata (West Bengal) as part of Phase-1 of Help Feed Ramadan
Pack distribution. A total 1320 families benefitted from Phase-1 of Help Feed
The purpose of ration distribution among the needy and the poor was not only
meant to facilitate them during ‘Sehri and Iftar’ but also to create awareness
among the well-to-do people about the need of coming forward and helping the
poorest of the poor out of resources Allah Almighty has endowed on them.
We would like to thank all of our donors and volunteers for their
contributions/ efforts in this blessed month.
