Hadrat Anas bin Malik (RA) narrates that when the Holy Prophet(ﷺ) used to come out for Fajr(dawn) prayer, as he passed the door of Fatimah (RA), he used to say, “O ‘people of the house’, perform your prayer” and then he used to recite the following verse from the Holy Quran: “Allah only desires to keep away (all kinds of) impurity from you, O ‘people of the house’! (the Prophet’s family) and to totally purify you,” [Surah al-Ahzab 33:33]  (he did this) for six months.►[Tirmidhi, al -Jami-us -sa hih (5:352#3206);Ahmad bin Hambal, al-Musnad (3:259,285); Ahmad bin Hambal, Fa dail -us-sahabah (2:761#1340,1341) ;Ibn Abi Shaybah, al -Mu sn naf (6:388#32272);Tabarani, al -Mujam-ul-kabir (3:56#2671)]Note :- [Ahl-ul-bait ’literally means the ‘people of the house’. Hadrat Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) has said about the verse, “ Allah only desires to keep away (all kinds of) impurity from you, O ‘people of the house’!…”, that it was revealed in honour of the following five personalities: the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Ali (RA), Fatimah (RA),Hasan (RA) and Husain (RA).►[Tabarani, al -Mujam-ul-awsat (3:380#3456) Tabarani, al -Mujam-us -saghir (1:231#375)Ibn Hayyan, Tabaqat-ul -muhadditheen bi Asbhan (3# 384)]

Towards the eastern side of the Rawdah Mubarak in Masjid an-Nabaviﷺ is the door of the house of the youngest and dearest daughter of Prophet Muhammad(ﷺ) i.e.Sayyida Fatima (رضي الله عنها) . It marks the place behind where the house of Sayyiduna Maula Ali (رضي الله عنه) and his wife Sayyiduna Fatima (رضي الله عنها) was located. It was the location where she and Imam Ali(AS) were married and consisted of a small room containing her prayer niche where she made her devotions. From the Rawda sharif, it can be seen to be behind Sayyida Ayesha(RA)’s house. Today there is an entrance to the chamber known as Fatima(RA)’s door, set in the lattice-work facing the Jannat ul-Baqi cemetery, just inside the mosque as one enters from Gabriel(AS)’s door. It is closed with a large ancient-style lock.Between Sayyida Fatima(AS)’s house and Prophet(ﷺ)’s house there existed a passageway called Ali(RA)’s passageway, Ibn Al-Najjar writes, “He(ﷺ) came to her door every day- and taking hold of the frame said, “The prayer! The prayer! O people of the house! Allah wishes but to remove impurities from you, O People of the house, and purify you utterly”►[Quran 33:33]
